Welcome to our Practice
We specialize in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the Colon, Rectum and Anus. As Board Certified Colon and Rectal Surgeons, we have had additional specialized training to be able to care for any problem in this area.
These include protologic conditions such as rectal bleeding or pain, hemorrhoids, fissures, pilonidal cysts, abscesses and pruritus ani ("itchy bottom").
Our practice also includes the medical and, where appropriate, the surgical treatment of colonic conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome ("spastic colitis"), ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, diverticulosis and diverticulitis, polyps, cancer, constipation, diarrhea and incontinence.
We also have extensive experience in the use of sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the colon lining, such as polyps or colitis.
We take pride in maintaining a modern "state of the art" office, which includes such ultra sophisticated equipment as infrared coagulation and ligation therapy, and fiberoptic sigmoidoscopy.

March is National colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and a good time to think about prevention. Men and Women of all races are susceptible to colorectal cancer, with the primary risk factor being increasing age - more than 90% of cases are diagnosed in people over 50. A family history of colon cancer or pre-cancerous polyps also increases the risk for colorectal cancer, along with pre-cancerous polyps, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, or smoking.
Yet colorectal cancer can often be prevented through regular screenings, a healthy diet and exercise.
Colorectal cancer in its early stages often has no symptoms, which is why screening is so important. Symptoms of more advanced disease can include bloody stools, stomach ache, cramping, or unusual weight loss. If you have any of those symptoms, talk to your doctor or healthcare provider immediately.
